(Beginners Welcome) Finding Gold in Wood Shavings …and other growing things from Earth.
We will begin by reviewing colors from many different woods and plants. The rich browns from mesquite, soft yellows to bright oranges from osage, honey browns from black locus, soft peach from apricot and buckthorn and more. Also identify readily available plants with dye material. Supplies include auxiliary materials for the dye baths and a choice of materials: cotton, linen and silk materials all prepared for dying and select from organic cotton napkins, bandanas, dish towels, table runners, scarves or cotton fat quarters for quilters.

In this pyrography (wood burning) class we’ll be learning how to transfer a flat pattern onto a small round jewelry gourd. Burning the pattern and shading it. Students will need their own temperature controlled wood burning unit and a small spear or small skew pen/tip for this class. Everyone will leave with a wearable necklace and a handout with patterns for your next necklace.- #1115 - Sat ($55)
Polymer Clay class on sculpting a old man’s face, adding a hat, and painting the piece when it’s done baking. This is an all day class where students will get to make a Santa/old man ornament they can choose from the floppy rim hat you see pictured or a make a more traditional Santa hat. Each one is unique as a person and you can choose what color to paint his suit and hat- #2215 - Sat ($55)
In this all day class students will be decorating a V cut gourd bowl with different kinds of metal and plastic embellishments, then we’ll use tin foil, spray adhesive, and acrylic paint to finish off this unique looking bowl. Students will choose their embellishments and paint color to create their one of a kind bowl.
